1980 BMW R65 with Hand Laid RS Fairing Copy
This particular paint job is done in
base-coat/clear-coat. The base is DuPont Chroma Base
covered by DuPont Chroma Clear. After curing, the clearcoat was
wet-sanded with 2000 grit and then polished to a mirror finish.
This makes for a deep luster and exceptional durability. This
bike was my youngest son's first bike and we had the paint computer
matched to his Shoei helmet, Shoei calls it Anthracite. He put
about 100 miles per day riding to work and college and the paint job
had been on the road for about 1 year when these pictures were
taken. Look pretty good for a
26 year old motorcycle? Yours could look this good, and for
probably a lot less than you might think...
